Starting my career in the legal profession with Shell before moving to my first media role with BLM in 2000 definitely put me on course to be at the forefront of digital advertising in the UK. Following a relocation from London to Manchester to help set up MediaCom North’s Digital division winning clients such as MBNA and JD Sports. In 2004 a move back to London, staying with MediaCom, I was appointed Head of the digital division media.com.
Search marketing (paid and natural) was in its infancy at this time (2004) paving the way managing setting up and managing accounts for clients such as Egg, Boots and Masterfoods my insightful use of technology blended with traditional “media” planner buyer skills and experience; meant that clients like Egg secured first mover advantage in fiercely competitive markets.
I finally left MediaCom in 2005 to setup agenda21 with Pete Robins and after starting with only a couple of laptops and phones, we have gone on to build one of the largest independent digital media agencies in the UK. In 2015 agenda21 became the first agency in the new digital marketing group BeHeard and now Pete and I are working alongside new partners to deliver full service digital solutions for clients both in the UK and abroad.
